Read to Lead is a community event hosted by Redbricks Education Foundation. This year is the 3rd edition of the event and holds in store an array of activities including some friendly competition, as well as workshops conducted by some of the best known authors, storytellers, illustrators and artists from around the nation, through which students and adults can delve into their passion for quality literature and reading.


Arundhati Venkatesh (Bangalore)
An award winning children's writer. Her books have won several awards, including the SCBWI Crystal Kite Award 2015 for India, Middle East and Asia for "Petu Pumpkin- Tooth Troubles." She also gives author talks at schools and literature festivals across the country.

Mathangi Subramanian (New Delhi)
An educator and writer who believes stories have the power to change the world. Her novel "Dear Mrs. Naidu" won the 2016 South Asia book award and was short-listed for the Hindu-Goodbooks prize. She loves powerful girls, good books, and helping others find their voices.

Niveditha Subramaniam (Chennai)
A passionate illustrator, children's writer and photographer. Some of her well-known books are "Mayil Will Not Be Quiet", "Nirmala & Normala" and "Tsomo & the Momo." She is currently working on a bilingual book which is soon to be released.

Rupa Gulab (New Delhi)
A columnist and an author. She writes for different age groups: "Sandy to the Rescue" is for naughty and cute children, while "Simi's Mum's Diary" is for mums who think they're cool and teenagers who think otherwise! She previously worked in advertising, but decided that it was more fun to hang around at home in grungy pyjamas.

Vaishali Shroff (Mumbai)
An author and a storyteller. Her books include "The Adventures of Padma and a Blue Dinosaur" with Harper Collins Children's Books, the multi-lingual, NCERT and CBSE recommended "Raindrops" and many more. She represents India for the reader series published by Oxford University Press.

Priti Shah (Ahmedabad)
Founder of Hope Learning Tree and an IIM Calcutta Alumni, Priti is a passionate facilitator who believes in constructing qualitative learning experiences through stories, games and art activities.

Rupali Bhave (Pune)
An award-winning actress who has worked on several nationally acclaimed productions. She is a product of the rigorous and challenging Marathi experimental theatre tradition and has been engaged with theatricals for over 25 years. She is also a passionate storyteller and is the founder of Jacaranda - a theater organization for children.

Ajit Narayan (New Delhi)
A renowned professional cartoonist, illustrator and author of six instructional books on cartooning. He has been drawing for various print media and reputed publishing houses for over 20 years and has been a workshop consultant for Scholastic India for over 16 years.

Nayan Soni (Ahmedabad)
An animation film-maker and children's book illustrator from Ahmedabad. He is an NID alumnus and has illustrated over 40 books which are enjoyed by children across the world.

Charuta Bhatt (Ahmedabad)
A passionate artist and a photographer, Charuta is a part of Backyard 49 - an initiative by a group of young artists. She regularly conducts workshops for adults and children, with the aim to spread the joy of art in everyone's lives.

Sudiksha Patil (Ahmedabad)
A passionate artist and firm believer in the forgotten art of letter writing. Her aim is to bring people a little closer to each other through her venture, which is a unique blend of Art and Letter Writing.

Parth Kaneriya (Ahmedabad)
A highly talented graphic designer and an artist. He is a part of Backyard 49 - an initiative by a group of young artists who are enthusiastic about everything creative, and conduct workshops for children and adults to spread the spirit of art.

Kaninik Baradi (Ahmedabad)
Moderator of the Writer's Club at British Library, Ahmedabad, for half a decade now. He has been an editor with the literary magazine 'Estrade' and is co author of the book, 'The Lesser Known Stepwells of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.' He has also received training in Acting, Directing and Media Production, and works on promoting regional theatre in Gujarat.
